Adding proverbial insult to proverbial injury...
I woke up Tuesday morning with my grandma absent from the house.
Apparently while I was still asleep, an ambulance had come by to take her to the hospital. It was determined that she has severe pneumonia, causing a partial lung collapse. She is there now overnight, on a respirator, but otherwise stable. I can only pray that it remains that way.
Tomorrow the first of my relatives from the mainland/Japan who were flying in to visit my grandpa for the last time (he had been deteriorating for a while; it was only a matter of time before he was gone) will be here. Sadly for all of them, they're all too late, and will now end up being here to attend a funeral. Fan-bloody-tastic.
