Yes, it's Leaf! I wanted to give him more lines, but since it was from Daisy's POV it didn't work out that way.

Mmmm, pie...

I think the tip part was hilarious...Daisy reminds me of the girl from Leap Year, have you seen that? She soo reminded me of her! :-)

Did I tell you I was at IHOP and met a cute waiter and thought of this? It was a while back..but I kept wondering if he had any nifty tricks up his sleeves besides serving pies! lol

Never heard of Leap Year. Is it a movie? Daisy is actually much like me. Waaaaay back in my youth, when somebody dumped me, my friends thought it was comforting to tell me repeatedly what a jerk he was. But I was thinking, um, why is it helpful to imply that I was an idiot to ever spend time with him? And besides he was really very nice except for this last incident, and it doesn't make me feel better to think he was nothing but a jerk....but I must admit, a little cathartic anger in its place is a great thing. Get it our, and THEN you can be all generous about your ex.

Heeeeey! I want the puppy punk!!!!!

As usual, wonderful story, Philia!! I love these so much. It's like a little ray of happiness whenever I see that there's a new one.

(I keep meaning to ask, Philia, is it ok with you if I make icons with some ECS quotes sometime?)

Oh my gosh, TLE, I would be so flattered if the ECS inspired icons! Go right ahead!

Thanks for your response. That's MY ray of happiness, that you like the stories.

Thanks, Tiegirl. I actually waffled a lot about the ending. I was trying to get Tricia to come over and have pie with them, but it just wasn't happening, so my mother suggested they just share a look or something across the coffee shop. I like the way it came out, I think.

There's so much here that is just awesome. Among other things, I love this line:

“This is a step in the right direction. She’s expressing a desire to…confuse the Jerk with inappropriate desserts. It’s a start.”

Of course, any talk about desserts is always fun all by itself. Revenge birthday greetings complete with coconut and singing - hilarious. Tipping the waiter extra for not singing, then for singing - priceless.

Excellent work.

I like that line, too! It's true, half the fun of writing these stories is describing the food.

Thanks for reading!

Daisy, still standing amid pieces of broken plate and fluffy white frosting, was the undeniable center of attention.

auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh how NEATLY you draw the story in on itself this way FABULOUS. Subtle and sweet and fabulous.

I also laughed a lot at the confused desserts bit. Hee! And I am lusting after the pie oh my goodness.

Good! I liked Daisy's insecurity about her plot. And I just love the whole atmosphere of this place. *makes grabby hands*

:-D
