Music Video Anecdotes
Saw some interesting music videos today. The top stories are:
- Air's "All I Need" is a really really nice clip, and includes a guy wearing a Stryper shirt (!!) and a Fugazi sticker too.
- Scott Cain's 'comeback' novelty single "Hilary Duff" is the worst radio pop song I have heard in years. It has ridiculous lyrics, trying to be cute about how much he crushes on Hilary Duff (how old is he anyway coz she's a minor isn't she??). This line is for real: "I can't get enough of that wonderful Duff, I like to watch you on TV and stuff". AND STUFF?!? Worst couplet of the century?!? What a waste of a Simpsons reference. The meoldy and arrangement are way dull also, once again proving that anyone with an ounce of songwriting ability could make it big if they just sold out.
- In Delta's new clip, she plays the piano standing up, 'punches' the keys and even sets the piano on fire! But the song is as wussy as ever... and I'm not sure there's even any piano in the mix???
- Sarah Blaskow is kinda creepy.
