Hangin' Humble, in Humble Texas, That Is

So this week I kicked off my 2010 school visit season.  Between now and the middle of December, I'm scheduled to visit over 80 schools, and I have a feeling I'll be adding quite a few more dates to that calendar.

I spent the week in Humble, Texas, which is a suburb of Houston.  It was an absolute blast!

At Maplebrook Elementary, Lori and Jean put together and amazing day.   I had three fun presentations plus a lunch with a cool crew.  Of course, we took a "silly faces" picture.

Super librarian Lee Glover had the kids pumped for my visit to Deerwood Elementary.  Many of them wore their "Peace, Love and Books" tee shirts in anticipation of the weekend's book festival (that will be my next blog so stay tuned!).  Luckily, I wore a black shirt so I fit right in for the pic.

My visit to Fall Creek rocked.  Lesley Nickelson put together a "Phil Shrine" in the multi-purpose room, and we packed the kids in.  I picked on David, signed tons of posters and books, and visited all the kindergarten classes (who weren't able to attend).

Then came Saturday's out of this world book festival...
