A Trillion Dollar Stimulus.... What's in a Trillion?
So our country needs a trillion dollars...for starters. A trillion dollars just to get the economy going. Or something like that. Who knows?
What I do know (or don't know) is about this trillion number. I've been trying to learn about it. Here's what I've been able to find from several different sources:
A million dollars a day for 2,000 years is only three-quarters of a trillion dollars.
One trillion one dollar bills stacked one on top of the other would reach nearly 68,000 miles into the sky or about a third of the way from the Earth to the moon
A million seconds is about 11½ days. A billion seconds is about 32 years, and a trillion seconds is 32,000 years. Think of that in terms of a jail sentence. Would you prefer to serve 11½ days or 32 years or 32,000 years?
