Glee Club
Last week, I auditioned for Glee Club. I got in, as my Facebook friends know, at least if they keep up with status updates.
But now it turns out that there will be dinner with political philosophy/political theory guest speakers six nights this semester (including tonight), and I'll be invited -- and all six will conflict with Glee Club rehearsals. So I have to either miss most of those dinners or not join Glee Club -- I'd be in trouble under the Glee Club's attendance policy if I joined but skipped the rehearsals.
Since I want to be a philosopher, not a singer, attending dinner with philosophers is more important than being in a choir. So I'm not going to join the Glee Club this semester. I do want to sing, though, so I will have to seek another opportunity.
