The weather was cool and overcast as the three of them left Ilex Forest--not too bad, really. Decent enough weather for traveling. Otacon, however, was lagging behind Liquid and Heather. And not lagging because he got distracted OOH LOOK SHINY, or because he couldn't keep up.
He was behind mainly because he was covered in Jigglypuff, one of which seemed to have turned on the Pokegear to record this fiasco.
The engineer was pulling himself along the ground trying to shake off the little round puffballs making happy little noises and smiling, all while saying what sounded remarkably like a verbal keysmash.
"ASDFGHJKL--Higanbana, Sleep Powder!" The Bulbasaur that had been walking at his side and watching these events unfold finally sprang into action, spreading a bluish green pollen that made all the Jigglypuff fall asleep and let go of the nerd.
Who was now also asleep.
"Bul..." muttered the Bulbasaur in what sounded oddly like an annoyed sigh as he poked his trainer with a foot. Mumbling dazedly, Otacon stirred somewhat.
"...hear it's amazing when the purple-stuffed worm--"
"Aaaabra." Pokepoke. A clawlike hand poked Otacon in the head, which finally brought him around to lucidity. When he looked up from his position on the ground, the first thing he saw was a little brown creature floating a few inches off the ground--right in his face, really.
Startled at first, a smile spread across his face because oh my god Abra psychic-types are awesome before he told Higanbana to use Vine Whip. Otacon stood up as the pollen fell...on nothing. The Abra had vanished--except it hadn't. Because Otacon now had an Abra attached to his head.
"What the--g-get off!"
"Bulba!"
WHAP! Higanbana had stuck to the order to use Vine Whip, but the attack struck Otacon full-on in the face rather than hit the Abra that now teleported from place to place as if taunting them.
Cue Yakety Sax as a nerd and his Bulbasaur chased a small Abra around for ten minutes in full view of the camera.
