[The Pokegear was switched on mistakenly as he sprinted through the water--he had just walked out of the Center to restock and all that, but the egg had just slipped out of his hands and been carried away by the floodwater in much the way he had found it in the first place.]
[It was dark, difficult to see much of anything if you were the person watching the video; all you might see was a flurry of movement causing the screen to shake and the sight of dark, splashing water.]
Damn it--! I knew I should have given it to Rise the second I found it, there's no way I could have taken care of an egg--!
[The Pokegear, presumably falling out of Otacon's hand, fell to one of the last spots of dry land in the area; the frame stilled on a tilted view showing a small part of ground and the corner of a building.]
ACK--!
[There was a kind of scrambling noise offscreen--as if someone might have tripped--followed by a splash.]
[Then silence. The kind of short silence that might seem like forever were you the type to focus intensely on what you were witnessing.]
[Finally, after thirty seconds that might feel like hours, there's more splashing and the sounds of someone gasping for air before a soaked Otacon scrambles onscreen and sits with his back to the wall, holding an egg close to his chest. The fact that he's now bleeding from a small cut to the side of his head seems to have totally escaped his notice.]
