Title: A Wish For Lungs That Worked
Prompts: "Running"
Pairing: Rose/Scorpius
Author's note: written for
drcjsnider This was my first time ever writing Rose and Scorpius, so I hope it turned out OK.
“This is awful,” Scorpius said in between heavy breaths. “How the hell did you talk me into this, Weasley?”
Rose looked over at him and had to bite her tongue to keep from laughing at the sight of a wheezing, red faced Scorpius Malfoy. They’d only run half a mile and already her new ‘running partner’, as he’d taken to calling himself, was nearly dead from exhaustion.
“I didn’t talk you into this, Malfoy,” she replied smartly. “I said I was going for a run to the muggle village from my parent’s house and you volunteered to come along.”
“It has to be my hormones talking,” he said as they rounded the corner. “They’ve been making me do things without thinking them through.”
“Like what?”
“This for instance. I’ve never sweat a day in my life and look at me now. I’m practically raining sweat and its absolutely filthy.” He ran the palm of his hand his forehead and flicked sweat on her to prove his point.
Rose made a face as the sweat landed on her cheek. “Don’t be a big girl’s blouse about it, Malfoy. It’ll wash off in the shower.”
“Promise,” he said sarcastically.
“Promise. Now what do you want from the shop? I could get you a Coke.”
Scorpius’ mouth watered at the thought an ice cold bottle of cola. Rose had given him one for Christmas a few years ago and he’d become addicted since.
“Would you,” he said coolly, trying not to betray his need for the sweet drink to a girl he knew was more than capable of blackmailing him in more ways than one if she ever felt like doing so.
“On one condition.”
“Yes?”
“You have to jog back to my parent’s house with me. No Apparating.”
“Wouldn’t you rather have a nice snog instead?” Scorpius asked, as he started to feel a stitch in his side.
Rose didn’t even try to hold back a laugh at that. She snorted and then guffawed until finally she had to stop running.
"Is that a yes, Rose?"
Rose looked at him as if he were insane. “Not a chance, Scorpius. You’re filthy.”
