I am a strong supporter of the NHS. No, I don't have a rose tinted view of the service, which I know has its flaws, but on balance, I would much rather have the NHS and its flaws than the American system.
I didn't have much contact with the NHS until James was born, but since then I have truly appreciated its value.

Oh and my consultant lead birth after what happened when James was born? Oh yeah that's free as well.
What I am most grateful for is that when James needed all of this care, I never had to worry about how I was going to pay for it or the impact on my insurance payments or what would happen if he needed further treatment in the future. When I was looking at treatments, I didn't need to consult my insurance first either.
No, its not perfect, but I for one am damn grateful for it.
