game ethics

with games getting a little bit more... competitive, peoples game habits have changed.  i know a bunch of people i know who would normally be 'good' people, would suddenly change to a violent & uncontrollable person while being engaged in these activities.  i really don't see the reason for this.  sure you get caught up in the game, but thinking about it --- its only a game.  i myself have had many experiences playing halo 2 with my friends, only to get physically attacked in person because of me winning.  some of these examples include controllers being thrown at me, people hitting me in the arm, or knocking the controller out of my hand just so they can get an extra second to get a shot off at me before i can reach for a controller.  frankly, i find this to be sad.  in my own personal experience, i find it better to play relaxed and not stressed out.  by getting too into the game, you zone out for the little things in games and tend to become paranoid of everything that is happening within the tv/monitor screen.  i know that in a game, if i die... i can come back to life and play again.  many other people don't realize this, and put their all into whatever it is they are doing.  subsequently, when they fail... emotions rage throughout the vicinity creating a nice circular radius of about 3-4 feet that effectively scares people.  being in that circle of influence, you reliaze that you are in the crossfire.  hell isn't a pretty place to be in, and is diffucult to get out of.  its one thing to be called a 'serious' gamer, but it's another thing being psychotic.  this brings up another thought.  self-awareness.  everything a person does is observed and analyzed by people.  when you watch a parent smack their kid, you watch and have thoughts about it.  it also leaves an impression that many people that will remember.  the same thing goes for people who are applying to jobs.  when you go to a job interview, they look for what kind of person you are, as well as your work ethic.  if both matches the criteria for them, then your in.  by them rejecting, if makes you think about what things you need to change physically/mentally/emotionally to accomplish what you want to achieve.  crap, this rant is going to go on for a while... i'll finish this tommorow night...
