so, the movies i watched this time are:
sweeny todd (starring johnny depp) - this movie was very interesting (although not original). what i really enjoyed about it was the singing and the star power (johnny depp, helena bonham carter, alan rickman, sacha baren cohen). it was a little bit graphic, but what do you expect with a tim burton R rated movie (think sleepy hollow). overall a 4 out of 5
dragonlance - well, i absolutely LOVE the book series. it's number 3 on my all time lists. however, the movie was a big let down. it wasn't so much that it was animated, but they could at least keep it the same type. the dragons were cgi while the rest were old school animation. that wasnt' the worst part of it though. the movie had A quality star power (keifer sutherland, lucy lawless, michael rosenbaum, michelle trachtenburg, jason marsden), but their proformances were severely lacking. it was more like they were reading the script off a page and not really acting the role. i couldn't "feel" the characters in their voices. overall 3 out of 5
idiocracy - great plot/story line, but it could use some help as a movie. man and woman get frozen for 500 years. the population of the earth is made up of morons (dumb people bred, while smart people advanced their careers and ended up not having time to have kids). there were some funny parts, some really dumb parts, and some interesting parts, but overall it was just OK. concept was great, follow through could have been better. 3 out of 5
find me guilty - starring vin deisel as a mobster on trial with 30 other mobsters. most of the court scense are actual testimony given in the case this movie was based. vin deisel did a pretty good job if you can handle his movies. this movie was a comedy, not an action movie. so that's a different role for him (before such crap movies as "the pacifier"). the movie was surprisingly good. if you can handle him, watch this movie. give it a 4 out of 5
enter the dragon - after a while of watching this movie i realized two things: 1) i've seen this before 2) wow, this is almost exactly like mortal kombat (or vice versa). it was bruce lee's last movie before he died. overall it was a pretty good movie. 4 out of 5.
the rest of my "recently watched" list is full of sliders. i've been watching this show almost nonstop. i'm about 1/2 to 3/4 the way through season 3. this show brings back a lot of memories. i also REALLY love the premise. to be honest, there is an infinate number of possibilites for this show. it could have gone on forever if they wanted it to. i think i'll finish this season, and maybe season 4, then stop. most of the original 4 had left during season 3 and 4. the show went downhill after they left (which is why the left). rated 5 out of 5.
