capital punishment drama

ok, i know this has been going on for a while now, but since i don't pay attention to the news nor do i have a lot of access to the net, i'm just now able to comment on it.

apparently there is some controversy over the lethal injection system. they say that one of the 3 drugs they use may cause excruciating pain in a small percentage of people it's used on. so, now they have halted all execution by lethal injection and are waiting for the supreme court to rule on this subject.

here's the problem i have: we're putting these people to death for a reason. they are convicted criminals of capital crimes (the most heinous we have). why are we giving them an easy way out?! i'm not saying that we should draw-and-quarter them, but we don't have to make it so nice either. after all, it IS supposed to be a punishment. do you think their victims were let off so easily?

here's an idea, kill them the same way they killed their victims. shot, stabbed, poisoned, burned, however they used to kill should be the same way they are killed. now i think THAT'S humane.

oh yeah, and they need to expidite the process. we shouldn't spend more money on an inmate on death row than one that's sentenced for life.
