Ants, like small bastards, they invade.

I am very, very, very annoyed at the moment as ants have pretty much taken over downstairs. The house next door is being gutted by builders, which is probably more than a mere coincidence as they have been flooding into the front room from that general direction ( Read more... )

Alas, I am in the midst of a nocturnal phase and will probably be asleep by then.... :( Would have been asleep already were it not for the builders next door coming in on a Sunday morning, and once again attacking the wall with hammers.

is there any water they canget to outside? my Mom always says they are coming in looking ofr water(at least down here they usually do come in during the dry season)

Ive also heard making a line of boric acid or smething like that stops them, they wont cross it-tho im not sure if t works or if boric acid is the right thingy.

having to move in a month and not knowing where you'll be going is really irksome:-/ Id say come to FL but what with hurricanes and earthquakes and all it seems to be scaring everyoine away...

as Im getting up mornings now and staying up fairly late, and your like 5 or 6 hours different we should be awake roughly the same times and I would love to talk to you;-)

Aagh, dammit - internet ate my reply.

Yep, in Wales, they will never be lacking in water.... The boric acid thing sounds good, but I haven't got any - and white spirit is doing an excellent job of repulsing the little invaders at the moment, so for the moment, I'm OK with that. Can't go in the downstairs front room, but I don't really need to anyway :)

I'm sorry to say that until the shrub and his administration disappear into obscurity, I'm probably going to avoid the US. I think I've googled too many bad keywords for their liking.... Hurricanes and earthquakes aren't the problem :(

I'll try and be online at some point, if I see you about I'll say hi.

Rar to the ants! Once when I was little-ish, there was a giant ruddy ant factory hive-thing outside my bedroom window and then they invaded.....nothing worked except 3 giant tubes of ant powder. I totally agree they are little red bastards.

On the boredom front- cinema on wednesday????

ps. sorry you can't come live with us.

Ants -may- have been vanquished - at the very least they have been efficiently confined.

Cinema? Is there anything good out - you know me, I'm culturally uninformed on these matters :)

And the living situation, gah - it's driving me nuts. All the flats I've seen are either kind of squalid, or nice, but incredibly tiny and cupboardlike - yet really expensive. I'm tempted to rent a 3 bed house in the valleys, it's actually cheaper than a teensy flat in Cardiff - the madness!
