Oh and one other thing I want to remember from my birthday: I was woken up at 3:16am by an aftershock. 3.6 at the top of the nearest hill to our house and within one minute of the exact time I was born.

Today I had a training session for Many Answers, which is this library database thing that I'm going to be working on for the rest of the week (and then on into the future.) Kids email in questions and we the library elves hunt down helpful links and write it all up and link it to other answers and it feels like doing detective work. Plus it means I get to research practically everything for work which today meant watching videos about Mars and researching the history of cremation. (It does involve a bit of question-rewriting as the two questions involved were "can humans live in mars?" and "what is cremtion?" Ah kids...)
Also I tried to describe it to someone as "a cross between wiki and an encyclopaedia" but stopped myself just in time once I realised how stupid that would sound.
