It's raining, and I am in bed.
This time last week I was just getting home from the movies - The Two Towers, extended edition, which was rudely interrupted half way through by a bitch of an aftershock that cracked up the floors and dropped plaster down in the foyer of the cinema. Bloody bugger blast. I then stayed up all night having Adventures and did the librarian zombie shuffle through work the next day. Which involved FLYING. Flying low under an ash cloud and going to sleep for thirty second naps and waking up viciously when the plane landed.
Have I mentioned here before - when you step out of the plane in Palmerston North, you smell cows, straight away? No plane fuel or anything. Just cows.
In fact, I zombied my way through Thurs and Fri as well, and only really became a human being again when I got home.
Also - flying in to Chch on Friday was a pretty nice day. I was on the left side of the plane so I saw a lot of ocean. It was blueish green, apart from some brown spots. Quite solid, distinct lumps, in different shapes and blobby sizes. I'm thinking Poo Rafts, like the ones people have to swim through when they're trying to swim the Channel.
I think Cath and Jen and Alina came over on Friday, but it feels like a million years ago. Did we have curry? Was that just last Friday? Did we have wine and Jen drove Cath home? Or was that weeks ago? Honestly, my brain is confused.
Saturday I zombied through as well - till I got to the party and swung right up to the YAY PEOPLE I LOVE PEOPLE end of the mood spectrum which lasted all the way to Alina and Peter's housewarming where they had mulled wine and little chocolate balls, till Monday when we drove through town (well, almost) on the way home from the work meeting and that was just depressing.
BUT here is picture of a butt. ( o )
:O
And here is a picture of a llama.
Looking forward to this weekend is going to get me through being in Palmy. FIRST there is HERA! She's playing a free concert at The Brewery
corner of Garlands rd and Cumnor tce, Woolston. Apparently it is also a pizzeria. Hera + pizza + wine + other awesome people who love Hera = win.
Saturday is Heroes and Villains. And THEN I get to spend the WHOLE WEEK in Christchurch. YAY.
Bad things though... Lara's been asleep most of the week and worries that she has glandular fever. I have been exhausted most of the week and going BLAAAAH face first on various mattresses but that's probably because my sleep patterns are screwy. Ma says I should get more sun.
The LFoD is not allowed to get sick. D: GO IMMUNE SYSTEM GO!
And with that, I might actually go to sleep at a reasonable hour.
