Water water everywhere
The Merrimak River took over Lowell today. The city had to close some roads, including Pawtaket St, the one in front of my dorm building. The road is under a few feet of water, part of the gardrail is compleatly under water. This moring there was someone rideing their bike through the lake that is the road, the water was up to his waist. School was cancled as of 3pm today and is going to be close tomorrow due to 'potental flooding', ummm, Lowell is already flooded when they sent out the annoucement, it started flooding last night. We have exams this weeks, so 3pm exams are postpone to friday at 6:30pm, and tomorrow's exams are postponed to Saterday at the same time. This means that my exam tomorrow is now Saterday at 3pm. The good news is i have more time to study, and time to write a paper that is due wenesday for another class.
Laurel and I went to Blockbuster to return some movies, then we stoped at the liquer store and got some mike's hard lemmonade. Since there was no school today, we had to have a flood party, it's like a snow party, but with rain. Besides, the news was refering the flooding as an event. 60ft was a major flooding event. This is the second time that school was canceled due to rain with in the last year, the first time was suppose to be a major snow storm. We then walked over the Rourke bridge since it was closed to traffic. The National park sign was partly under water, the park was compleatly under water. People were kayaking down the the flooded road today. We then went into Market Basket to get some water becasue we got a call from Russ saying that they were turning off the water. There was a limit on how much water people could get. We also got some microwaveable pizzas. We latter found out that the RA's were advising everyone to leave. We left around 3:30ish to go to my parents house.
The water is being turned off to conserve clean water. A swerage line broke in Haverhill.
We went to hannaford to get the fixings for an icecream sunday.
