Upstairs, Downstairs (emotionally)
So this weekend has been one that's been really great, but bittersweet at the same time.
One of my childhood best friend's, probably one of the ones that knows me best *love you hon* called me Saturday afternoon to tell me that her mum had passed away that morning.. I knew that she was sick, but I just didn't expect it..I'll be taking time off to go spend with her so that she is not alone during all this, although she seems to be in shock....
To balance things out, today I went with the kids and the big one's friends, and got two of my other friends hooked on Letterboxing! Yay for letterboxing :) Today wasn't a really good day for actually getting boxes (one was missing, one was the wrong time to go out to try getting it (darn high tide)), but the sun was shining, the water was beautiful at the park we were at, and the breeze was cool. Overall, I couldn't have asked for better weather, company, or kids.
After the letterboxing adventure, we went back to my friend's house for a cook out and the kids got to meet Poseidon (Great Dane) and Demeter (Rat Terrier). I think the best reaction was the little guy's when he said "Holy Moly! I could RIDE that doggy!!" We were going to try flying the kite down at the Dog Park, but we just ran out of time..
Overall, it was a great time, I wish my other friends could have been there.. maybe I'll have to kidnap them and bring em down here so they can join us in this area.. he he he.. thoughts for another time.
