So Dante and I did Jumpers Stumpers about a week and a half ago. Despite it being cold and him not having been consistently ridden the previous week, we did very well, jumping up to the 3' classes. Out of 5 classes, he got a 2nd, two 3rds, and a 4th. The fifth class was our warm up class, the second 2' 6'' class, and I went as slow as I could so he wouldn't get too excited. Despite that, we still got 7th out of a class of almost 40, not half bad.

We were supposed to go do our first BN this weekend at Spring Bay, but the farrier trimmed his feet a little too short the week before and when we went for a blow out, he was lame the next day. So we withdrew from Spring Bay, but it turned out to be a good thing because the weather was AWFUL. It poured and rained and the wind blew and the temperature was in the 30's and 40's all weekend. In mid-April! Dante would have had to cross a creek bed that had turned into a river on cross country; waaay too traumatizing for his first event. We'll do May-Daze instead, hopefully the weather will turn out better then, and no school then!
