Gong Gong Mah Mah comes home!

Gong Gong and Mah Mah was coming home today after a week's vacation at Taiwan. Sis and I have planned for the whole family to meet them before going for a dinner at the airport to celebrate both Jess's birthday and also Father's Day with Gong Gong.

The morning started off usually with us going to Mac at Kallang for breakfast. The only unusual thing was that both Keith and Jess were both quite unwilling to eat and they took less of what they usually ate. Keith was absorbed in watching the TV and Jess was busily talking to herself while trying to feed AA the rest of the sausage that she did not want to consume. To our surprise, we saw a young couple come in to film their wedding photo and video. They looked very young, only I suppose in their early 20s? Maybe that's why they filming Mac's, as a place they met each other I suppose?

After Mac, we proceeded to MIL's place for the customary weekly visit. MIL was as always excited to see the 2 evils. We waited around for BIL and SIL to arrive and when they did, we proceeded to Suntec to have lunch in celebrating of Jess's birthday. We had fried rice at Chen Fu Ji. It was nice for the adults but the children did not enjoy the food much. Keith in particular was noisy and unhappy. He kept wanting to run away and wanted to push his stroller everywhere. AA was very angry and scolded him again. Keith was indignant and refused to eat anything. Even Jess was a little out of sorts and only had a few mouthfuls of fried rice. When the adults finished, we walked pass stalls that were selling finger foods like popiah and muah chee and AA stopped by to buy some muah chee for Keith. Jess and Keith enjoyed it so much that AA bought another box.

As we walked down to look at the HP shop (BIL and SIL wanted to look around), we fed them with the Muah Chee. AA then took off and bought pretzel for them again. As we chased after them and fed them, Jess suddenly start to vomit, a sign of worse things to come, but we didn't really get worried as we thought she choked on something.

So after walking around for a while, we had to send MIL home as she was eagar to meet up with her friends and go off for her Karaoke. We dropped her off home as she had forgotten to take her purse and because she "had already asked her friend to come and fetch her at home". And we went off home to sleep the afternoon away as the 2 evils appeared tired by now.

By 5pm, they showed no signs of stirring so we dressed them half asleep. I was a little concerned that we might be late to fetch dad and mum and they would go away. I didn't notice that Jess was unusally legthagic but only find it mildly strange that she wanted to cling to me and doze on my shoulders.

When we got there, we were surprised to find GGL and nek waiting by the gate. It seems that they have just arrived and we spent some time looking out for dad and mum while they did theit Non- duty shopping. Dad even made a call out to Sis to consult her on the wines he should get :D Jess clung to me in the meantime, while AA busied himself with Keith, who was eagering looking at the lifts and escalators again.

When dad and mum finally arrived, Y also just arrived and we embarked on the long waiting game to gat dinner. The minute mum and dad came out from the gates, Jess was eagar to jump into her gong gong's arms. All the restaurants at the airport were full and there was a super long queue everywhere. I took the plunge and waited by Sakae Sushi and sent the others out to foray where there might be a shorter queue. Unforunately, it seems that the queue at Sakae was the shortest and after waiting for close to an hour, we finally made our way in despite a kiasu uncle who tried to squeeze in front of us. We got 3 seperate tables and promptly started to attack the food.

Sis, Y and J got one table where they proceeded to order all the BBQ and cooked stuff. AA and I with Keith and Jess started on the sushi belt, same as dad and mum, GGL and nek, who were on the next table. Jess started to look ill and even in the arms of her beloved gong gong she wasn't calm. I took over later but halfway through the dinner, Jess started to feel really uncomfortable and her fever suddenly shot up. Worried, we quickly finished our food and went home with her. I excused myself from dad and mum and they went home with a taxi, instead of with us as originally intended.

The funny thing was, Jess got worse as we go on home and on the trip home, she was a bit dazed and sleepy and dozed on the car. When we got home and took her temperature, she was a boiling 39°C and AA and I were really scared. We dosed her with Panadol and then gave her a warm shower to cool her down. Then we took off all her clothes and let her sleep in her diapers only.

And surprisingly, the next morning, she was up and ok! She even smiled, giggled and mimicked when we tried to wake Keith, who was lazing in bed again.

We are just glad that nothing bad happened to her after all :P
