After providing electronic dance music for over ten years, SKILLS DJ Workshop (located in Berkeley, CA) has decided to close the store today. Unfortunately, I have not had the privilege of going there until this month--first on 03 July and secondly, and finally, today. Lindsey, Megan, Nik, and I walk down to the store, and as we approach the store, I see Jason (AKA Dyloot of Deep Voices, an underground trance group that includes him and German DJ Steve Baltes) standing, smoking a cigarette just inches outside of the shop. My heart dropped. My head spinned. My nervous system froze. My body floated. I walk into the store, and I am paralyzed. I cannot think correctly nor say anything to any of my companions properly. Desperate to stabilize myself, I jetted to the vinyls section to flip through some music records. My hand cannot stop shaking. Because of its closing today, each vinyl was twenty-five cents. TWENTY-FIVE CENTS!!! Also, each CD was selling for one dollar. ONE DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!! (Although I didn't purchase a t-shirt today, each was sold for only $2.50!!!) I speak with Tim at the cash register. He is the man I spoke to the first time I went to the shop and who has advised me with some DJ Equipment tips. I ask if I can have a picture with him, and he kindly accepted. Later, Jason walks into the store, and I finally asked, "Jason? May I please have a picture with you?" He was so friendly and sweet about it and quickly accepted. I told him he was my inspiration. I sounded like such a groupie, but I can understand why people melt and freeze when they meet their idols.
He is my idol and inspiration to everything. He is my spiritual mentor with anything DJ-related and anything Electronic Dance Music related. As lame as it sounds, he is my sole motivator to follow my dreams. Hence, I felt that I could have died happily at that moment.
I was (and am still) going through a natural high today.
Two hours after that incident, I am still in disbelief and shock as I sit down contently on my loyal blue chair.
I am still slightly shaking.
My heart is still melting.
I am goo.
Today is a beautiful day.
26 July 2009 is the second best day of my life.
Today, I am floating in a "trance".

I almost forgot! My purchase was a total of five vinyls and five CDs. As I rode back home, I realized that I bought two of the same vinyls... ULTIMATE, TANGIBLE PROOF THAT I WAS IN SUCH A STATE OF COMPLETE BLISS THAT I LOST MYSELF IN ANOTHER WORLD. The end.
