I don't have much of an opinion on legalizing marijiana one way or the other as I've never tried it, never plan to, but think the government is a little ridiculous on the issue as well...but anyway here is a bunch of interesting facts (mostly-there are a few blantantly wrong/weird things toward the end) about pot/hemp. Although isn't hemp fiber a little different than what people smoke? (The dried leaves?)

Although this article might be an argument to the contrary...(note: you probably heard this...it happened a while ago). But using a human head as a bong? Really?
