Horror Movie thoughts and a poll...
Evil Dead - had some of the worst zombies I've ever seen. Seriously...the made the muppets look pretty good. Bad puppets and worse claymation/stop action special effects. On the other hand...I can see why this movie is a camp favorite. It's got all the elements (though the tree rape scene is just...frightening), and really it's hilarious as heck! Could they have more blood if they tried? *giggle* I think I'll be checking out the sequel to this at some point, primarily because I'm curious...
Urban Legends - To me this wasn't a scary movie. It was, however, an exceptionally fun serial killer movie. I enjoyed it a lot. But then I DO like Urban Legends. I enjoyed it so much, however, that I immediately went out and rented Urban Legends - The Final Cut. I know that sequels of slasher and horror films are usually a bad idea (let's face it, they usually suck big), but honestly? I almost liked the second even more than the first! I'd definitely recommend these. And it's fun to watch them back to back, because there's a REALLY awesome cookie at the end of the second one...anyone else recognize that nurse wheeling the guy around?
Invasion of the Body Snatchers - I'm glad I watched this. It is creepy and...tense. Very tense, in that way that you just know the characters are fighting a losing battle and there's nothing they can do. It was interesting. On the other hand, it's not the best movie I've seen...I found it got tedious in points and I find myself prefering other movies with similar themes - the original Stepford Wives, even - more.
And now a poll. I notice my friendly neighborhood Hastings has an excellent selection of episodes from both of these shows, so which should I make an effort to rent and watch later this summer?
