A lot has happened in only a little time.
First and foremost, The Boat is back on on her feet again, with a brand-new 400 CID V8 motor (that's 6.7 liters for the metric guys) and a few new features.
First of all is the essential hot-rod exhaust system. Now, to say that the car is noisy would be a grievous understatement. The sound produced by my vehicle now reeks of social irresponsibility; it's both musical and raucous at the same time. It's the kind of sound that makes you think the car's angry. Very angry. Angry, and ready to bite the ass-end off of a Honda.
Needless to say, with a perfornmance exhaust kit, you've got to have the rear-wheel power to back it up. I got the vehicle out on a strip of fresh pavement (the road never gets used except by local teens and occasionally someone who gets lost; we just petitioned to get it re-paved because some rich prick bought-out and bulldozed both of the local drag strips) and laid down enough rubber to stop the spread of AIDS worldwide. It was beautiful.
Actual performance data so far is very impressive. The car will run 0-60 MPH in just over 5 seconds (roughly 0-100km/h in 5.0-5.5 seconds), and afraid to see what she'll really do without installing the seat-belts and a chair that wasn't meant for a patio.
So it's obnoxiously loud and probably much faster than I need it to be, and upholstered with patio furniture because a chipmunk ate most of my front seat.
Pictures of my shiny, new (budget-built and almost entirely constructed of used or factory-second parts) motor will be online in a few days.
