ALright, I'm still not sure why it's taken this long to post it here, but I've got some really great news.
I've already spilled it in some other locations, but just a few weeks ago, I purchased a vintage baritone saxophone, Eb key, in absolutely fantastic shape, considering detail.
Alright, here's the meat:
This bari sax is close to 70 years old, and sounds better than any post-1990 sax I've ever laid eyes on, including that Selmer Paris ST70 and the MK-IV clone I played just a few months back.
It has no chromatic F# key, but frankly, I never knew what a chromatic F# key was even for until I found out that my bari didn't have one.
This is all considering that I've been saxing for close to 8 years now.
So now, I've got a Yamaha alto and a gorgeous, Martin Baritone sax in my posession.
I'm looking for a sopranino, though they're getting harder and harder to find for less than a car in price.
Next order of business...
Summit Lake Films has finally begun full-time production of the COdename: THUNDER II video series.
With the release of the second episode, the series has oficially launched, and so far, so good.
For those of you who may not already know, MILSIM AirSoft is a way for big boys to play soldier without looking stupid. My own rifle is an exact replica of an AR15 Geneseo assault rifle, right down to metal/plastic content. THere are others who build their own sniper's rifles using a mix of parts from real guns and APS2 gas rifles, and some who go out and buy a pistol and a video camera as their only armament.
Out of 180 people who attended last year's 24hr. Codename: THUNDER game, everyone got an opportunity to act-up in front of a cameraman, and the video footage selected contains a mixture of story-oriented content and simpler footage, including just "cool stuff" or "funny stuff" that happened during the event.
