Forgot Dean/Ear Kink on the Fanfic list, Oh well!
Haven't had much time to read other reactions/reviews this weekend - I apologise - do join in with discussion if you can bear it?! *g*
My gripe out the way first because then I can just be FUN - I noticed the writers' strike with this ep especially, did anyone else? I really felt like several storylines were suddenly brought to a head. Sam is much more desperate to save Dean than he seemed last week. Bela's backstory is revealed and she's killed off all in a few scenes. I would have liked more, but hey ho.
Also - in England they identify people BY THEIR EARS! That's why I wear my hair long, keep 'em covered I say!(Seriously.. I laughed OUT LOUD which is probably not what I was supposed to do during otherwise mostly Serious Face Episode.)
These are small points 'cause otherwise:
I liked lots about this ep - I liked Dean's black and white ness vs. Sam's willing to look into other areas. Sam would have them both take the immortal pill, but Dean wants only to be human - which is why it's so heartbreaking he's going to hell - it's his Very Worst Nightmare to become something that he hunts... or even close to it. I liked them both trying different things to save Dean - and being okay with each other doing it.
Lilith holds the contract! I did not see it coming and feel like an EEJIT cos who the hell else would it be?! One thing:
I guess Dean must have made the contract THEN Lilith got hold of it? (Though that's not how they made it sound) cos otherwise - why the F would she let Dean make it? There was something about it that seemed off. She wants Sam dead. There Sam was dead.
I can only presume she then got hold of the contract or then found out what a threat Sam was...and I guess holding the contract is leverage for her with Sam? You'd think she'd have tried to get Dean to welch or trick or tempt him into it? Cause then Sam dies. I'd like to know if we'd have gotten that if there hadn't been a strike. I wonder if she'll offer Sam something in exchange for letting Dean live? Thoughts?
And Bela. I like how they kept her in character to the end. She offers no excuses to Dean for killing her parents. She asks for no help until the VERY end when she knows there's nothing Dean can do. She relies on herself always and she does until the end. I didn't see Bela's deal coming (and I wonder if this was always the plan for her?) and that was neat. I felt bad for her...it felt in character for Dean to say what he did... they could have helped her, yes, but it's too late now.
Where is the colt? When she couldn't trade it for her life, why not keep it to shoot the hell hounds? What's she done with it?
Who does Bela call on the phone anyways, Lilith? Lilith has a cell now?!Demon Minutes?
OH GOSH I am nervous for next week. I DO NOT want spoiling but EEK! I fear it'll be horrible cliffhanger of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Thoughts?! PS if anyone's read any fic related to this ep already, please rec?
