I've been playing around with tofu lately, and my latest attempt has turned out pretty well. So I made tofu corndogs. Basically, after pressing some extra firm tofu to drain, I sliced it into strips and let it soak in some honey mustard for a few hours. Out of the mustard, into some plain breadcrumbs, and pan fried with some cooking spray. I wasn't too thrilled with the results fresh from the frying pan. But after I threw these in the 'fridge for a day or so, they're really, really good. It's a pale imitation for a corndog, but it's still good.
Another day at the bench. All. Day. Long. Happily, it's the last set of samples I have to prep for proteomics. I'll be happy to get back into some IHC. Love my slides, love my microscope, hate proteomics.
I'm taking a day off from bench work tomorrow so I can actually get some work on my grant done. I've done next to nothing on it thus far. Considering I've only got March to write and perfect it, I've got to get on it.
Nutrition was crap. Calorie intake was pretty crappy as well. Back on the nutrition bus tomorrow.
I did, however, go to the gym. I finished week 2, day 1 C25k workout with relative ease.
Time for some more organic chemistry. Bah...
