Work has been keeping me busy these days. A lot of what I'm doing these days is trying to help our soon-to-be-departed postdoc finish up her projects before she moves on to her next position. In between that, I've been trying to teach our post-bac student how to run westerns, write the rough draft of my next paper, and start putting together a new grant. Totally stoked about the new grant. It's an Idea Award from the DoD where, in the instructions, they're actually encouraging postdocs to apply. Strange, but I'll take it. It's right now my alley in terms of project, focusing on projects that are high risk, high reward, for which there is little to no preliminary data but plenty of sound reasoning to build a hypothesis. Fun! I presented a few of my preliminary ideas at the last lab meeting and, strangely enough, my boss actually liked my favorite idea. The best part is that, after five years of trying, I've found a way to sneak chemoresistance into my work! Chemoresistance was my first research love. I'm not sure what the attraction is... but it just really attracts me. Go figure.
Gym is going well considering I'm actually going. It's tough, sometimes, to venture out into the cold. Summer will be easier. But, for now, I'll deal. Food is going well. I'm well under my calorie limits... Honestly, though, I'm just not hungry. I've eat all the chocolate I can stomach in a day, and I'm still 100+ calories under my limit. I think it's all the tofu in the soup. Tofu seems to seriously fill me up.
