Ego/Eggo; in other news, "if you could see where I've been"
Ok, so the new Mars Volta album is one of the most terrifying and brilliant albums I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It's dark and assaulting to the point of malevolence, yet it surges with a muscle I didn't think the band was still capable of...and it's funky as hell. The band lays down groves thicker than most of fusion's finest. I've been in a sort of stupor all day, but I've listened through the album once, and I think it might've played a role in one of the weirdest dreams I've ever had, but, long to short, the album is great. I've felt like shit since my surgery, and I've napped most of my afternoons away, but hopefully I'll be well by the weekend.
