Happy Thanksgiving! We made it to Virginia perfectly safe. It was rather rainy and windy, in some places Steven could hardly see the road but we survived. After dropping Dan King off at Newark airport Steven and I continued to head south on route 98 (I think). Then we got on route 1 and stopped at Wendy's for a little grub about 3:30. Finally we got on route 13 and stopped for gas once. We made it across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and were home free. That is the biggest bridge I've ever seen in my life, it's literally an engineering feat. It's about 20 miles long, it took us about 20 minutes to cross and there are two tunnels and that divide it into sections. You should look it up on a map. Steven told me, hey we're going to cross a big bridge. I was like, okay cool (big deal). But when we started across you couldn't see the other side! Whoa.
Last night after getting to the Morse residence, we watched Thank you for smoking with Steven's parents, his sister Megan and his brother-in-law Gregg. Very funny movie and I liked it more than I thought, it wouldn't have been worth the price of a theater ticket but it was great off of Netflix.
So far this morning I was waken up by Steven tossing Claire on top of me in bed - it was hilarious to see her little red curls flying around. Steven and I read some of the National Review, ate cinnamon buns and just took a shower and I have developed a little shadow. Claire is my new best friend, we've been doing everything together. I spy books, playing with the jump rope, picking out my outfit for the day and getting beautiful with our makeup. And now she's sitting on my lap while I type this, she's reading it too and quacking like a duck. I wish I was four.
It's extremely windy outside and it sounds like it's raining too. It's almost high tide, which is one of the highest I've ever seen here because of the stormy weather.
I'm so thankful for family and friends and school and, all the things you should be thankful for. I definitely have tried hard never to take those things for granted. All of my thankfulness for today will mainly revolve around food that wasn't cooked by me or a restaurant - that sounds amazing.
I love you all, have a wonderful day.
