So anyone who knows me, knows how large of a fan of new found glory I am. It's one of those things, where you've liked them for so long, they hold such a special place deep down inside your heart. Last night they had a concert at the Roseland Theater, and of course I attended. I went with Andrew Quackenbush.. we were both feeling a bit under the weather, but still made the most out of our experience. The first band Eisley was rather amazing.. the girl the played the keyboard and sang, had such a beautiful voice. The second band, I really could not say the same about. Reggie and the Full Effect blows. I mean you know a band is going to be awesome when they come out on stage all in bunny suits right? Yeah.. probably not. So their first song they played was a Slayer cover. Wow.. yeah, at that point I was wondering why I had even gone to the concert. Most of their music was of the metalish genre.. not something I'm too fond of. The singer also found it cool to talk between songs and frequently use the F bomb in everyday phrases, such as: How the F is everybody doing tonight? Oh he even told a funny joke..(sarcasm) : "What's the difference between a tire and 365 blow jobs? A tire is a good year, and 365 blow jobs is a GREAT year." HAHAHAHAHAHA yuck. I didn't find it funny. Okay so as I was still wondering what my reason for attending this concert was, Reggie was playing a song, and then... this is the best part guys.. JORDAN from NFG came up on stage! Hot to the maximum amount. He is.. great. I was reminded of the wonder and greatness of new found glory that I was going to see shortly. "Hooray," I thought to myself, and finally after that band was over, there was about a 20 minute intermission, where me and Andrew stood around, and watched some people fight each other, and then there were two guys standing behind us saying that they wanted to shoot all of the white trash people at the concert. That was heart warming. They were making a joke out of it and talking about different situations, some parts were actually amusing... one guy said, " Sir, are you wearing fingernail paint?" "What was that? Yes you are?" "boom" <-- that was supposedly the sound effect of a gun.
New Found Glory took the stage, and Jordan was up there in all his gloriousness. I was amazed.. they even sang my most favorite song, The Glory of Love.. one of their covers from the cd From your screen to your stereo. One might say I'm a bit obsessed with New Found Glory.. one might even go as far as saying, "Kristin, you're a freak.. why would you like such a weenie pop punk band?" The answer is.. I don't really care.. I have a wide span of music that I enjoy listening to and they happen to be one of the bands that make me all warm and tingly inside. I even listened to country today, knew the words, the whole bit. It's really great when you broaden your musical horizon and have an open mind about what is out there. Musical appreciation is key. The night ended with an encore and of course, it was the best in the west. Now I'm going to nap before I have to go to work.. Love you
