I don't know if I have mentioned this enough times, but...the Lopez decision of the Supreme Court in 1995 has been the greatest leap in limiting the federal government in 50 years.

First, the majority's holding runs contrary to modern Supreme Court cases that have upheld congressional actions despite connections to interstate or foreign commerce that are less significant than the effect of school violence. In Perez v. United States, supra, the Court held that the Commerce Clause authorized a federal statute that makes it a crime to engage in loan sharking ("[e]xtortionate credit transactions") at a local level.
Because carrying a gun near a school is obviously more of a commercial activity than loan sharking...What exactly are they smoking and where can I get me some?
