Alright, so my thoughts on the episode tonight. Briefly, though, I gotta get back to writing.
I really enjoyed it. There was humor and angst, which I just love. Plus, there was Bobby/Ellen. ♥ Oh, so much love!
Alright, the spoilary bits.
Fate was amazing looking. And a bit whiny. But understandably so, I guess. But I kinda wish the show hadn't introduced her, because that means there is a fate, and a destiny, and things are supposed to happen a certain way. I don't really like it. What can you do, though? Well, besides ignore her and her sister's existence.
Anyone else getting a strange vibe from Castiel and Fate? Like, there's a history there. Oddly sister-brother-like, though.
BALTHAZAR IS AWESOME. FULLSTOP. "I HATED THE MOVIE." "WHAT MOVIE?" "EXACTLY!"
The "angel that's in love with you" line wasn't nearly as epic as I was hoping it would be. Granted, I was hoping for a lot, so that's not surprising. But there's definitely fic potentional there, so I'm looking forward to that.
The shippiest thing for Cas/Dean was that final part, though. Where Castiel basically threw his entire war plan out the window so that Sam and Dean could stay alive. GAH. THEIR FREINDSHIP IS SO AMAZING. But I'm oddly confused about where all this love is coming from. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but last we saw our trio, they were having glare-offs and trying to out-scowl each other. WHY ARE WE FRIENDS NOW. STOP IT, SHOW. PICK A TONE AND STICK WITH IT.
I was just getting used to angsty "WHY DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ME, DEAN?" "WHY ARE YOU SUCH A DOUCHE TO ME, CAS?" "WHY DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH, DEAN?" "WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME, CAS?" fics.
ALSO: I love that Castiel's behind it all. You kept hearing him talk about 'regretable things', and, so far, the most regretable thing he'd done was torture a kid to save him, and use Dean and Sam as a decoy. That's it. I'm a little worried about how fucking rushed both the main storylines are going to be, though, since we're only now getting into the civil war stuff, and the next episode feels like th first time Sam and Dean and treating the Mother thing like something that should be dealt with. The show has gotta get better with pacing. Hopefully, next season (fingers crossed), they'll have a better handle on it.
So, overall, really enjoyed it. It didn't make me want to murder things as much as I thought it would, especially since everyone else was utterly surprised about what was going on. I'm still not sure why Fate couldn't've just gone back in time and resunk the Titanic herself, but maybe she was just pissed off and wanted to murder a few people before she went back and dealt with things properly. *SHRUGS*
Okay, back to the SPNCROSSBB! XD
