Don't mistake this for anything other than random comments about the way things are.
We look at each other but look away when we think we are being watched. If only we could get together and express ourselves, happiness might follow. But because of the way the world views us, we are to afraid to go any further than a look. Our ways part until another time that we can cross paths again. Then the looks will continue, in silence, knowing but never saying. That is, until one of us makes a move. Not one towards the other but one away, far away, from the other. And not because we have grown apart, because we have remained stagnant. Neither of us has made the next move out of fear of what others will think, how we will be approached. So I think of what might have been in my luke warm life that I have run to so that nobody will see me. Still, I think back to the place where we exchanged looks. A look that remains with me as I continue my day in quiet uncomfortability.
