it is raining. it was raining last night too. but it is good rains, not bad rains. last night's rain was stormy rain, with the thunder and the lightning, which is always fun. today's rain has come at just the right time of day to make the sky grey, but that draws out all the colours in the garden. bright greens and reds and yellows everywhere. it makes me want to go get wet and take pictures, but i'm in my pyjamas so i wont.
this holiday has been a marvellous one. dissertation is finished bar tweaking and a few more references, the zoo was a super fun day of super fun and the days since have been filled with liquiding and picnicking. while i'm looking forward to returning to portsmouth i would have liked another week being comfortable and fed. I'm also apprehensive about returning to the workload. although the dissertation is done i'm still sure i'll have the urge to re-write plenty before the 24th. following that i have about two thirds of a script to write as well as two essays before i can relax for the summer. yesterday i received a package regarding graduation and it made me realise how little i care about getting dressed up and shaking somebody's hand. to me that isnt graduating, the last three years have meant much more than that yet very little to do with my course. worryingly, i dont even know where, if anywhere, it will get me.
i had my first ever cup of green tea last night. it tasted like boiled nothing. today i woke up with an aching neck and sore throat and general grottiness but i've written off today to be ok for gym and cinema tomorrow. it is so hot in this house.
