My band broke up... even though my guitarist says that we're on hiatus.
The shittiest part is that I found out from someone else. I know what you're thinking... it's not a relationship, idiot... well guess what? It is to me. My music was/is the one thing I love to do and that I can always depend on. Sharing that experience with two good friends is amazing. Once it's gone... blah.
So here's what happened. My friend (we'll call him Mr. A) asked me last night if I wanted to start playing music with him since I wasn't jamming with my guitarist and bassist anymore. After that remark I asked what the hell he was talking about. He told me that my guitarist saw him a couple days ago in a Clear Lake shop. When Mr. A asked if he was still playing music with me, he responded "not really, it's just me and (bassist) playing together now." So I call (guitarist) up and ask him what's going on. He says he doesn't have time to play and that he isn't inspired to play music right now (I didn't mention that I had heard that he was planning on playing with the bassist). He told me that he still wanted to jam and stuff. I told him that I didn't want it to ruin our friendship (sincerely).
My bassist won't pickup the phone (he hasn't for weeks).
So basically.. I got kicked out of my own band.. without ever being kicked out... only finding out from someone else.
I still love those guys to death.
What makes it even shittier though... is that we had JUST had practice that same fucking day (yesterday: saturday).
So now I'm looking for some people to play with. Mr. A and his friend would like to play some funk or something similar. I'll take this chance to make some more techinical beats.
ONTO more pleasant business.....
I'm going to see Jack for his birthday, Friday 23rd February. Exciting. San Francisco... have you recovered since the last visit? Good... I'm going to fuck your face off.
AND...
YES, PLEASE
