I am super stoked for my band.

I couldn't believe all my friends wouldn't tell me that my music sounded like shit without a bassist. Thanks, Jason, Chris, Eric, Andy, and everyone at the Walter's show a long time ago for lying to me when you said it sounded good.

So... Jacob's friend Stephen came out yesterday to check out what we had and to see if he was interested. He's in. He also plays for the band "The Elliot Project" from the north texas area-ish.

I think that when it was just me and Jacob we both felt compelled to keep everything filled in... like one of us had to constantly be playing something. For me I felt like I had to be hitting a cymbal all the time to fill in the void of sound. Now that we have a bassist, I feel that I can play more without fear of the absence of sound. I'm excited. We've changed a lot of our songs because of different feel. awesome.

ALSO... everyone was telling me that my bass drum sounded like shit and was too repetitive.. I've resolved this in two parts... Since my bass drum is an 18" my pedal had to be shortened as to hit the center (or as close to as possible) of the batter head. I bought a bass drum raiser.. so now my pedal is at full potential. I also got complaints that it was very loud. It has been remedied- I also bought a new resonating bass drum head. It's actually a marching band bass drum head... but it sounds good. I cut out a huge hole in the middle (9" = half the diameter!) and it's pretty loud for being so small!

sorry for the long update that has no relavence to you.

and my dad just yelled at me.
