my latest spur of the moment whim
I'm gonna join a virtual choir!
So the other day I was listening to one of my favorite webcasts, KCRW's Eclectic 24, when this guy Eric Whitacre's "Seal Lullaby" came on and kinda stopped me in my tracks.
So after searching around a little I saw that he had a virtual choir project last year. A couple hundred people recorded themselves singing along to his direction, posted the results on YouTube, and a producer turned them into a choir:
He's doing it again. I've never done any choral singing apart from one of those sing-along-with-Handel's-Messiah thingies a long time ago. (Singing along with Dowland and Monteverdi CDs when I'm by myself in the car doesn't count...) This is gonna be too much fun to pass up. I have until Dec. 31 to practice, record myself, and post the results...
I've downloaded the music, and I think I'll be able to do the Tenor II and Bass I parts well enough. Here's the tune:
When the final video's finished and available, I'll post here to brag about it...
