You know what the best god damned thing to do right now is?
[Lilith is pacing Deck 11, restless as hell with so many dead and still not sure if her partner is risen from the dead or some melodramatic crap like that. She's a little crazy-eyed.]
Don't

And read the fucking signs. Swear to god, I'mma take your crew and rip THEIR

The comm clicks on, but there's a pause before he answers. When he speaks, his voice sounds tired.]
Yeah. I'm fine.

Where are you?

My room.
[He might of been hesitant to relay his location, considering how happy she sounds with him right now.]

Neither does she bother to knock when she arrives. To his eyes, Lilith is just suddenly *there*, looking for all the world like she didn't have her arm cut off just days ago. Words are cheap. Which is why she's going to bear down on him and swing a white-knuckled fist for his nose.]

He turns to speak but before he can even open his mouth to make a sound, Lilith's fist is connecting with his jaw. His head snaps to the side with the force and once again he tastes copper. Tongue moving to wiggle a tooth on his protesting jaw line, Mordecai throws Lilith a dark look.
He does however, say naught.]

Why did you pull a stunt like that!?

Instead, Mordecai reaches up to wipe the blood from his lip with the back of his hand.]
I take it you didn't die?

[Lilith goes for shove, instead of punching. Have a Siren trying to pin him on his back so that they're inevitably talking face to face, looking at each other head-on.]
No, I didn't fucking die, and I wouldn't have even without you trying to cover me. You know that. So why?

And then it's his turn to get angry, step forwards and get right up in her face and have his say.]
And how the hell would you of done that?! You would of been gunned down or phased out! Either way, I'm still god damn dead.
[Yeah. Mordecai totally didn't seize that as a chance to turn the spotlight away from himself.]

[She doesn't plan on letting him know what happened in the maze- but even the best laid plans can fall apart, so who knows?
Lilith plants her hand into the middle of his chest and pushes roughly, more at odds now that she isn't sure if she wants to kiss the ever-loving fuck out of him or just kill him again.]

When he speaks, it's with a very angry, quiet voice.]
I did what I felt was right at the time, alright?!
[What the hell. Did he just use the word 'felt' in a non-physical context!? o__O]

You... what?
[She whips her head away and phases for all of three seconds to melt out of his grip, returning a few feet farther than where she'd been standing and glaring at him accusingly. With nothing to retaliate with, however, Lilith is mute.]
