Swish swish.

Thwack thwack.

Matt Murdock flailed the business end of steel-reinforced nunchuks across the dummy before him. Wood struck rubber in a series of calculated strikes, registering as musical blips on his radar sense. When the onslaught reached its climax he flicked his wrist and sent the nunchuk coiling beneath his arm, assuming an open-handed stance that was highly reminiscent of Bruce Lee.

A minute of calm measured breathing. Then Matt straightened up and wiped a fine sheen of sweat upon his forehead. This was his first workout in this weird space station, and he figured he had no excuse to not stay in shape. Not when his neighborhood had somehow... come with him. And manifested itself in the millions of miles below the Ring. He wasn't home yet he might as well have never left, if that made any sense. Hell's Kitchen still needed its guardian devil.

POOF.

Blind Matt was. But he didn't need sight to know they'd suddenly lost power. He could neither hear the electrical currents pulsing through the wires above nor feel the heat off the lights that had been warming his skin. Matt was about ready to believe this back room of the bar was the only one affected. He thought of filing an appeal at the nearest terminal, but his heightened sense of hearing pierced the walls of the room and let him pick up the robotic voice droning up the Ring's corridors.

Eyebrows crinkled. That couldn't be good. Especially if some kind of systems failure meant life-support might follow.

In a darkness that did nothing to break his stride, Matt towelled off and slipped a shirt on. A tap of a button sent the opposite ends of the nunchuk snapping back together into a billy club. Another tap and the weapon extended, assuming the guise of a blind man's cane.

Time to see if he could give the other Phased an edge in this blackout. Without arousing any suspicions that is.

Spike was sitting down an enjoying a nice drink at the bar. In fact that's he was spending most of his time here doing unless they sent him on one of those mission. Which, he had only been on one so far. He hoped he wouldn't have to go on another one; the last one got him into a fight with a slayer from the future.

Spike took another sip of his drink when all of a sudden the lights went off. "What the hell!" He exclaimed as he looked around the area. "Great, I can't even enjoy a drink." Spike shook his head then stood up. Of course since he was a vampire, adjusting his eyes to the darkness didn't take that long. Spike started to move around the bar to see if he could find anything or anyone that could give him some answers.

Framed in the doorway to the backroom, Matt curled his brows ever so slightly. His radar sense fed him the outline of a man standing by the bar. He'd been nursing a drink, and while Matt could hear their cold moisture drops plinking upon the varnished wood, it alarmed him how he couldn't say the same about the man's heartbeat.

Matt kept this observation to himself and slipped back into the role of blind lawyer. He tapped the floor and objects before him with his cane, moving in the other man's general direction. "You all right back there? I understand the power's out."
