Characters: Duo Maxwell, Cissie King Jones, Tim Drake Where:The apartment wing When: After This announcement Summery:Why do both Tim and Duo rechognize each other? They pass theories around while exploring the personnel wing.
Tim was walking with Cissie, exploring the area, and hoping to find somewhere that they could stay for the duration of this adventure. He turned at the sound of the voice, to see the familiar looking boy.
"Oh, hi, Duo," he said, looking at him curiously. "What's up?"
Tim made a face, wanting to swear. "Um--generally when I'm wearing the costume, it's Robin. In normal clothes, I'm Tim. It... doesn't really matter much at the moment, I guess, since we're alone, but... yeah."
Cissie frowned a little--she knew how much Tim hated that his ID had been completely blown--and touched his arm lightly in support before smiling at Duo again. "I'm Cissie."
"Got it, Rob'." Duo replied, then grinning wryly at Cissie, her physical proximity not going unnoticed. Next order of business was addressing how the they had known each other.
"You said I looked familiar. I can't help but think we've known each other a while."
Tim gave Duo a quick smile. "Thanks." He regarded him thoughtfully for a moment. "You do look familiar. Do you live anywhere near Gotham? Have we been to school together?"
Cissie leaned back against the wall, listening. She frowned a little, looking at Duo thoughtfully. Now that they were mentioning it, he did seem vaguely familiar, but she wasn't sure how either.
"Gotham? Never been." Nor had he been to more then a few formal schools in his life time. "And you don't seem like the space fairing type.." Was it a coincidence that they both appeared here and both knew each other? Twist of fate, perhaps? Not likely.
"Super heroes aren't exactly real where I come from. That said, gotta wonder HOW the hell we got here."
Tim let out a short laugh. "Yeah, I don't spend a lot of time in space. The Watchtower, occasionally, and that time we fought Apokalips, but that's about it." He gave Duo a wry smile. "Not a lot of time to meet new people."
"Not real?" Tim asked, a little incredulously. "They're very real where we come from."
Cissie made a face, remembering the war with Apokalips and the only other time she'd been in space. "I don't either," she said, and gave Tim a wary look. "Don't forget the trip to Myrg, too. I haven't seen a baseball diamond here yet, but I'm saying right now--not happening."
When Duo said superheroes didn't exist, she looked at him in surprise and nodded in agreement with what Tim said. "You don't have superheroes at all?"
Duo didn't know about the baseball thing, he was curious but let it be. On the other hand, the way Cissie put it, he probably didn't want to know.
"There're a few old movies out there. Seen a few.. Couple comics get past the censors, but that's it." He shrugged. "I'm willing to suspend disbelief, considerin who we just left.."
Tim laughed a little. "Do you mean the gargoyle, the crazy computer setup, or the people from... it looked like a whole bunch of different times and places?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Duo's face fell at that. Fact is, it was exactly right. "I was on that computer before. Told me things, just about anything I wanted to know, if it had the data on it. Fact is, there wasn't any security, but at the same time, no real information..."
Duo looked to Tim, "We're on this giant space station, diameter's huge.. like.. two hundred million miles huge. I don't even want to calculate the area, d'you?" Duo smirked at that. Please, let the answer be no. Last thing he wanted was a work-a-holic around, like Heero.
"Oh, hi, Duo," he said, looking at him curiously. "What's up?"

The girl, too, never got her name. "And you are?" He smiled brightly.

He sighed a little at Duo's evaluation of the computer system. "So... no real idea what's going on, or why we're here, right?"
