Monoko was shaking, waiting inside and watching Snake from a chair. She wondered if she'd be able to do something to make him not so mad anymore. Maybe try to figure out what he was doing with that thing. Dick had done something with it to make sure neither of them could get it, so it would be up to Snake to explain... if he would.
But, it seemed like, besides an unconscious Snake, she was all by herself again. The other man, "Or-ra-cul", said that someone else would be coming to care for the both of them. She decided to be on her best behavior, so nobody would get mad at her again. It would be hard, though. She didn't even know what she did to make Snake mad.
Snake would come to soon enough. There were beeping things all around, his head was aching, the lights were blinding. He groaned and reached for his forehead.
What happened? Where was he now? Last he remembered, he was trying to contact Otacon and then that little girl-- That little girl...
Oh shit.
It came back to him then. The uncontrollable and undeniable urge to destroy, his body no longer acting as his own. This power over him like...like he was a puppet. He looked around feverishly. Damn, damn damn, double damn. Where was she, was she alright??
He threw himself upright. "Monoko!" he sounded, not angry, but frightened and concerned for the girl who was... conveniently, right beside him.
She hadn't expected him to get up so suddenly. She stared at him, shaking, and the moment she heard a word coming out of his mouth, she literally threw herself at his feet, sobbing and apologizing over and over again. She couldn't do it for too long, and soon she was coughing, rubbing her throat and backing away, in case he was going to make her hurt again.
And that entire display made his stomach turn. He had done this to her... he had reduced her to this, after she had placed such faith in him. He could just curl up and die...kill himself for what he'd done. Once again, he wasn't the hero people thought he was. He was a loser.
"No... Monoko, it's my fault. That thing...hypnotized me." he knew it was a piss poor excuse but it was the truth. Slowly, he dug in his ear, pulling out the tiny microphone he used to talk to the Colonel or Otacon. "This thing..."
Monoko slowly got up, rubbing her knees. That... that felt pretty bad too. She'd try not to do that again. She was pretty surprised to see... whatever that was. She took it from him, looking at it for a bit, before shaking it and yelling at it. "Bad! Bad, bad, bad! No!" She wasn't sure if it was alive or not, but maybe if she punished it, it would stop being bad and making Snake do things like that. Once she was done, she gave it back to Snake. "Better now?"
Snake would have chuckled at her antics were he not so utterly disgusted with himself. He curled his fingers around the codec device and smiled just a touch. "I'm sorry." he said in earnest. "I hurt you and I didn't want to... I'm a loser."
She frowned, and hugged him tight. He seemed like he needed it. "It's OK..." She whimpered a little, and then repeated the words, "It... it'll be OK. You won'... you won' do it anymore, right?"
So many questions, and yet never a time to ask them all.
"I don't know...I don't want to do it again, but...I didn't want to do it the first time either. Someone was controlling me." it was strange that he allowed her to hug him. The only person he allowed close to him like this was Hal and Hal was gone, or rather Snake was gone from his world. Nevertheless, Monoko was getting oddly nice treatment from the normally rough and prickly Solid Snake. "You're... kind to forgive me." he found it slightly laughable how his own speech resembled hers, basic and easy to understand, to be taken completely at face value.
"What if... that person makes me do it again and I can't stop myself? I need to get away. Get far away so I don't...so I don't hurt people." he was talking to himself then more than her.
"But... it stopped." She was pretty nervous about this whole thing, hugging tighter now. She didn't get many chances to hug herself, but she liked it when she could. "It... it wasn', wasn't your fault. You... you didn', didn't want to, right?" It was pretty bad, what he did, but bad things just sometimes happened.
Which was why the idea of Snake running off scared her to death. If she knew what that was. "No!" She realize she had shouted, and took a breath so that when she spoke, at least she made sense. "Don'... don' go... please. Even... even if, if it, it, it happens... No... Don' leave me a, alone..."
He went kind of still after that, just listening to her "I..." she was going through a lot, and she was obviously from a terrible place if she still wanted the likes of him around despite what happened. "Alright...Monoko." he felt guilty and responsible enough to do what she asked, at least for now. "I'll stay then...for now at least."
He gave her a look over. "How are your...injuries?"
Monoko let out a sigh of relief, just leaning on him a bit, before pulling him onto a seat. Seats felt a lot nice than the floor.
"Ah... injuries?" She tilted her head a little, before looking for one of the bruises on her arm, and pointing at it. "This?" There was more of those, but if one of them was an injury, all of them were.
"Yes. That. Are you in pain-- ah... do you still hurt?" he looked her over, not liking the bruising and bodily harm he could plainly see on her. He had done this, it was all his fault, no matter what she said.
"Ah... yeah... but... it'll, it'll be better... right? The... the guy here, he'll make it better." She thought about it a bit, before asking. "What... what about, about you? Lot... A lot happened..."

"I'll be fine... go. I just... want to lay down." he found a nearby bed and proceeded to lay out on it.
