[Thread] The Deadly Game Starts Now.

Who: Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy, Helena Campbell

Where: Somewhere in the mess of what’s NYC

When: Not long after this

Summary: Ada prepares herself, then goes off to find Helena.
((There will be subthreads left for two separate one on one’s.))

Upon leaving the Shadowlands, Ada found her way back to the Ring’s complex to pack some supplies. Hopefully the easier way would work-she’d talk with Helena to learn about anything between the kid and the Dark Queen. If Helena was smart, then maybe she wouldn’t need to be knocked out. Upon preparing, Ada realized she would soon have to put forth some trust in Helena, and explain why she was offering her services to the Queen. To do that, she would have to make sure she would be safe to confide in someone, without being watched.

The Queen was very calculating and smart as Ada was, that was a given. This time she might have met her match. Pulling out when the time was right was going to have to be thought over very carefully.

She holstered the tranquilizer pistol to the belt of her combat attire. To protect herself from the local monsters prowling around the city areas, she packed the Glock Leon had given to her a while back, along with the AK 47 and ammunition. To make a quick getaway in case Ada was up against much more than she was capable of, up to four flash grenades were packed. She had thought of everything, but didn’t expect to step out here for very, very long.

The street areas around the office buildings looked empty. Somewhere out of sight, she could hear wet slurping sounds. This didn’t sound like anyone slurping up a cup of pasta noodles, for instance. Ada kept in mind not to go near where whatever monster was feasting. If she could avoid a possible encounter with an inhuman hostile, then her mission would go along much easier of course.

I might be in for a long search... If I were Helena or any sensible person, I’d be far, far away from here.

Staying alert for anything to jump out and get her, she kept watch at the skies. Not only a while after her arrival in this post apocalyptic New York setting did she see a pair of distant black shapes, flying around no less to keep an eye on her. The Queen was right not to trust her very much, but if her pets were going to get away acting like surveillance hawks, she had better think again. This type of paranoid behavior was to be expected, and Ada felt confident to remain one to a few steps ahead of her.

Ada looked up at them. They were very high up above, so she had to call out to them. "Shouldn’t you go off and...eat some bugs or something?" During this, she felt really stupid for talking to a pair of damn bats, but the alternative option that came to mind-shooting them down-would only send a very wrong message to the Queen. She’d risk her own neck and end up dying some long and torturous death, give or take.

"You’ll only be a distraction... It’s better for me do the work without an audience," she added in annoyance. Sorry ‘Your Majesty’, but you’re just going to have to have a little faith. I might have to set some terms to our relationship if I’m to do anything else for you...that is if I can be subtle enough to do more, and learn more about you.

The bats squeaked and flew off, almost as if startled that they had been spotted. Ada down below sighed and moved on. Here and there were scattered civilians, some of them looking not at all there but didn’t smell of rotten flesh. Either way, Ada wanted nothing to do with anyone other than her target at this time. Can’t expect to accomplish much with eyes monitoring me, now can we, her inner voice snarked. Don’t think they’re going to stay away though. The bats will only try harder to keep a watch for their dear master.

Knowing this, she smiled one of those tight lipped smiles to herself. Well, I guess I’ll have to put on quite a show for my new boss then.
