I don't know why I occasionally do things such as this, but I suddenly had a brief wave of nostalgia. Whether it was from the hopeful feeling of accomplishment in possibly generating an idea for an experimental procedure that could finally prove 3 years worth of Dr. Reid's (Larry's :-P) work, or whether the bizarre contact I've had with fellow classmates today, it got me thinking. It is not a big surprise that I have not had many good friends in my lifetime, and while I've never had a single person really say something bad about me, for some reason most of my relationships just sort of fade with time for no good reason in particular. Anyways, it caused me to do some bizarre digging.
So it turns out the first girl I ever used to tell dirty jokes to (yeah, so it was still only 1st grade ;-) ) is now an all-league soccer player for Swathmore university. Another face of the past elementary crew is a leading member of Hillel at Boston U. My young co-conspirator from back in the summer camp days is now a junior frat guy at UMD, which surprises me not at all. And of course my oldest best friend is throwing his life away to be a human resources manager (who doesn't like giving public speeches). :-P
Still a few names saddened not to find, including my first neighbor in Damascus, who I'd hang out with all through middle school until he moved....hell of a basketball player. This is getting bad. It's bed time.
