Finally, I get to see Megadeth. I've been waiting and planning this since I heard of the Gigantour starting up months and months ago. I arrive at the Molson Ampetheatre with my metal 'elitist' friend, Mark, and the doors just got opened by the time we get to the building. After getting violated by the security guards, Mark and I go straight to the merch booth. I bought myself a Fear Factory and Megadeth t-shirt. Mark decided not to wait while I was getting my shirts and bought us some nice beverages. By this time Bobaflex has already started. Not like we gave a shit in the first place, sorry Dave. I didn't really dig the homoerotic thrusts on stage and seeing the bass player nearly play bass at his neck which looked goddamn retarded.

Not soon after, Dry Kill Logic hit the stage. I didn't give a shit and I wasn't into them at all. My friend and I said fuck this, and bought some beverages once again. He also bought himself a Symphony X shirt and he bought me a Nevermore shirt which was awesome of him.

Symphony X was on next. We were looking forward to seeing these guys. They played about four songs, and they were done. It was awesome but really short unfortunately. They finished, and we were back out getting drinks... as well as some pizza.

Setlist:
Inferno (Unleash The Fire)
Wicked
Sea Of Lies
Of Sins And Shadows

Nevermore hit the stage, we come back and they're rocking hard. The crowd was digging them, as were we. Their set felt EXTREMELY short and both of us were disappointed about that. Seeing Loomis shred was great.

Setlist:
The Seven Tongues Of God
Final Product
Enemies Of Reality
The River Dragon Has Come

Life Of Agony was up next. I've became a huge LOA fan over the last year and a bit. I was looking forward to seeing them. They were really good especially for a band that was not getting as much love as they should have. I was surprised to know Mark knew This Time. LOA finish the set, and I'm off to get more beverages.

Setlist:
Don't Bother
This Time
The Day He Died
Through And Through
Love To Let You Down
The Calm That Disturbs You
River Runs Red

Fear Factory was next which I was extremely excited for. They were really fucking good. I was singing along almost every word of them. They ended up playing Acres Of Skin (which I knew they would) off of Digimortal. I heard that Burton C. Bell and Christian Olde Wolbers didn't want to play songs from Digimortal but have changed their minds more recently. I was waiting for them to play Martyr off of Soul Of A New Machine, but unfortunately it didn't happen and it felt like their set was cut a bit. I was totally pumped about seeing them. They paid tribute to Dimebag Darrell by playing the intro to Walk which was cool. Mark and I got some more drinks.

Setlist:
Demanufacture
Cyberwaste
Shock
Edgecrusher
Acres Of Skin
Transgression
Archetype
Walk Intro
Replica

Dream Theater were really fucking good. I wish I knew more of their material, but I haven't listened to their albums as much as I should have to more of the titles and lyrics. I really enjoyed their set though. The music was really great. It was cool to see such a talented band play. John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy were fabulous like they are on albums.

Setlist:
The Root of All Evil
Honor Thy Father
Panic Attack
Just Let Me Breathe
Lie
Endless Sacrifice
A Fortune In Lies
Home
Pull Me Under/Metropolis Pt. 1

Finally, the moment I've been waiting for for a long time. MEGADETH!!!! I was so pumped up. They break into Blackmail The Universe and the band are fucking amazing from start to finish. Dave Mustaine has picked amazing players for the band. Personally, I've never heard Eidolon but I knew he made a good choice when he hired former Iced Earth bassist James Macdonough. The band was really tight and were totally enjoying themselves. I honestly think this is the best incarnation of Megadeth. There are any members that don't want to be there unlike the last few. I thought it was awesome that people actually made Canadian flags for them. One said, "Dave Mustaine for prime minister." The pyro during the set was killer. They were totally into it and it was the time of my life. I was completely amazed by them. Best concert I've ever been to and it was just amazing. Portnoy came out during Peace Sells and played drums since it was the last day on the tour for DT. Shawn came out and played guitar with his brother and Mustaine which was rad.

Setlist:
Blackmail The Universe
Set The World Afire
Skin O' My Teeth
The Scorpion
Wake Up Dead
In My Darkest Hour
Die Dead Enough
She Wolf
Reckoning Day
A Tout Le Monde
Angry Again
Trust
Hangar 18
Sweating Bullets
Tornado Of Souls
Kick The Chair
Symphony Of Destruction
Peace Sells
Holy Wars
