10/27/04 - Metallica w/ Godsmack - Copps Coliseum, Hamilton, ON

This show has probably been the best experience I've ever had. Seeing Metallica live is amazing, and they were amazing live. This show actually had a good opening band unlike 2 of the other shows I have been to. Godsmack played a fantastic set. Lots of energy, played a lot of my favourite songs by them. There was a lot of pyro during their set, and they had a drum solo with both Sully and Shannon. The stage was set up like a big square with two platforms on it. Godsmack had the drums on both platforms. This is a great set up so everyone in the building could see everything. The band went all around the stage and Shannon also switched to the other drumset so they would be able to see. There was also those jumbotron thingies. It looks like this. Anyways, Godsmack put on a hell of a show and when people were sitting down Sully told them to get off of their lazy fucking asses.

I've been waiting to see Metallica for a very long time, and now I finally got to. They basically had a rotating stage because Lars' drum set faced every part of the crowd. By the duration of the two hours they played, he came full circle. They had lots of energy and put on a fucking fabulous live show. All those who talk shit about them 'sucking' live are just full of fucking shit. Like Godsmack, Metallica went all around the stage. I lost a bit of my voice screaming so loud to all their songs, lol. I was going absolutely crazy and I was sweating a hell of a lot. My dad bought me a Metallica t-shirt which I think is the best new shirt that's out. Metallica played a few surprises for me, especially Dyers Eve. I thought they would never play it. I was excited when they did. All in all, excellent show.
