Oh, it hurts so good! It was clear that awesome Samurai Amy wasn't going to make it, but I like that it wasn't through noble self-sacrifice -- she's going to go down kicking and screaming. But that highlights, for all of them, the costs of being the Doctor's companions. (Which is how season 5 starts, right? One encounter, and young Amy gets heartbreak and years of therapy. The Doctor lies. He makes promises he can't keep.)

And next episode seems to take place at the Overlook Hotel. Yikes.
