HOW DID I MISS THIS THE FIRST TIME AROUND.
From volume nine:
Tokiwa: Please forgive me, so… come home, Fehmut. I saw it. In Fehmut's dream. Only once the Pharaoh's name was… Nefertis… I want to meet you once more.
So he's not based off of a real pharaoh, though he could have been considering how little we know about pharaohs with similar names. (See: Neferka, Neferkara.) Dammit, Akino, my history geek is not being satisfied.
(For clarity, and I'll type up something longer on this eventually, Fehmut is in fact also Nefertis-- the pharaoh doesn't remember his name, so Tokiwa ends up using the cat's name for both of them. It works out, because they're very much a combination of both.)
