(no subject)
I really wasn't intending to be awake this early today, particularly as I only went to bed about 2am but my clock is awkward and if you press the button to make it glow, you just get a glowy green box because the time immediately fades so much it's unreadable. 4.38am, my laptop said when I dragged it onto my bed and having made the effort to pick it up and switch it on, I wasn't going to put it down and go back to sleep and risk not waking up in time to finish off my nails before work. Anyway, the point is that 5 in the morning is an excellent time for a Bryan Dick picspam.
Carrying straight on from where we left off last episode, on the Colubrine's big night out still.
Danny does a viewing for a couple, only it's the house where he used to live.
He's fine...
Seeing the ghosts of his younger self and his father in every room.
Danny and his mother. They don't really get on, not least because she put him in care.
It seems his father is dead and Danny hasn't dealt with it yet. He storms out of work to go and hold his wake.
The morning after the wake.
Mmm... hungover and dishevelled is pretty.
At the viewing, he begins to fall apart. Mel comes after him.
Seems it's not just happy memories in this house for Danny...
My favourite thing about this scene is that when he covers Little!Danny's eyes to stop him seeing his father hanging at the top of the stairs, his hands are trembling.
He's upset and crying but he still manages to show an utterly bastardly streak.
This scene is just beautiful. Look at it!
He's calmer now, gets this couple moved into the house.
Gets his father's ashes.
Says goodbye to his father, by burning the ashes in the model boat
And starts to move on.
