New movies
Quick little update. Not doing too much, really. This is my last full week of relaxation before I start summer school, so I'm trying to rest as much as I can. :P
My mom and I are halfway through the films we've rented. I watched Casino Royale this afternoon first. I really don't know how I feel about Daniel Craig's portrayal of James Bond. He's so extreme, rough, and just has this devil-may-care attitude that's insane. Now I can't be too hard on him because it is his first crack at the character, so I know he'll need more time to figure him out. I will say it's quite a change from the typical Bond, which I did like at times. I think that Craig is attractive in a bad boy sort of way. He does have these incredible blue eyes that just pull you in. And he sure can kick some serious ass! He had everything imaginable done to him, poor guy. The movie was a bit too long in my opinion. I'll give Craig more time to get a feel for the role. Not bad for a beginner, though. I still would have preferred Gerard Butler or even...*points to icon* But David would have to bulk up big time!
The one that really surprised me was The Queen. I thought I'd be asleep within the first minute, but I was hooked from the start. It was so interesting and thought-provoking. Helen Mirren was phenomenal. She completely immersed herself in the role that for a while, you forgot who she really was. I can see why she won the Oscar now. My mom and I were pleasantly surprised with this movie. This is another one worth seeing.
